MONCLER GRENOBLE FALL 2012
Moncler Grenoble went back to the New York for the third year, taking center stage with a winter fairy tale at Wollman ice-skating rink, in the hear of Central Park. 180 professional athletes were synchronized skating, in monochrome teams of three, performin an impressive dance while presenting the new Autumn/Winter collection. Luam who has worked with celebrities such as Beyonce, Rihanna, Kelly Rowland and Britney Spears thoughtfully choreographed the act. An orchestra of New York based musicians provided the soundtrack. Inspired by the Sixties, the collection showcases warm furs, soft wools and futuristic fabrics. The surprising mix of shapes are created with the use of plastic, suggesting a new and sophisticated identity. Women`s garments are snug and form a cocoon like silhouette around the figure. Coats and jackets are designed as protective shells in Naplak, a classic material used for bags in the sixties. Glossy, lively substantial, it-s an evolution of the celebrated Moncler Laque. Transparent PVC inserts allow a glimpse of the inner padding, which offers a subtle , futuristic effect to the classic puffer jacktets. The colour palette is neutral and conjures up a vision of mountains with hues of ice, stone and snow. Contrasting colours appear in navy blue and bright red. www.moncler.com
