Zakimi Castle Site 座喜味城跡
Zakimi Castle Site is located in Yomitan, Okinawa. The Castle was originally built in the early 15th century by Lord Gosamaru who played an important role in the unification of the Ryukyu Kingdom by conquering the one of the three kingdoms on Okinawa Main Island. He not only was powerful and loyal to the then king, but he was also known as an outstanding castle architect. Zakimi Castle Site is designated as one of the UNESCO World Heritage Sites in Okinawa under the collective title of "Gusuku Sites and Related Properties of the Kingdom of Ryukyu". 座喜味城は読谷村に位置する。当時沖縄で三国に分かれていたうちの一つを征服し、琉球王国の統一で重要な役割を果たした護佐丸によって15世紀初頭に築かれた。権力者であり当時の王に忠実だっただけでなく、優れた築城家としても知られていた。 座喜味城跡は「琉球王国のグスク及び関連遺産群」の一つとしてユネスコ世界遺産に指定されている。 Shot on November 1 - 2, 2010 撮影日 2001年11月1～2日
