M9.0 (Revised) earthquake hit the northern mainland of Japan around 14:46 March 11, 2011 (0:46, March 11 ET) Epicenter appears off the coast of Miyagi Prefecture. Strong quakes are also felt in Tokyo and many other regions. Tsunami Warnings have been issued and over 30 countries and regions around Pacific Rim are alerted. JR East and Shinkansen (or Bullet Train) systems have gone out of service in its entirety within the northern Japan including Tokyo for safety precaution. Tokyo's metro subway systems have been stopped for inspection as well. As for air traffic, Narita International Airport has been closed and all incoming flights are diverted.
